Community Cinema is on location in more than 50 cities nationally, bringing together leading organizations, community members and public television stations to learn, discuss, and get involved in key social issues of our time. The Hip-Hop: Beyond Beats and Rhymes campaign educated both young consumers and media makers about issues of gender, race, and community values. ITVS partnered with 16 national partner organizations and hundreds of community organizations to present 400 screenings, discussions, workshops, and community convenings, bringing together nearly 10,000 people across the country in 2007.
